Xanthan gum is a natural thickener derived from corn sugar. It produces high viscosities at low concentrations (.5 - 2%), is soluble in hot and cold water and is tolerant to salt, pH and temperature changes. It can thicken and add volume to lotions, creams and gels. It also works as a suspension agent.
